Private Training

Due to Kathie's extensive travel schedule, group classes are no longer offered on a regular basis.  Private training in your home (preferred) or at our office in Marfa is available by appointment.  We have found it to be in the best interest of dog and owner to provide multiple session packages rather than individual 1-hour sessions.  Packages are available to target your specific training needs and ensure follow-up to help you and your dog to succeed.  Returning mARFa Dog Training clients may purchase individual lessons at any time.  Discounts available for dogs adopted from shelters with proof of adoption.

Behavior Consultation

Help is available for aggression, barking, digging, jumping, separation anxiety, shyness or fear, excessive licking, air snapping, obsessive tail chasing, hyperactivity.  Some problem behaviors require referral to your vet or to a board-certified vet behaviorist.  Call for more information.

Help for some behavior problems is available at no charge online.  Use the contact form on the left to request help with your dog.

AKC Canine Good Citizen Test

A fun way to demonstrate your dog's good manners!  Dogs of all ages, purebred or mixed breed, are welcome to participate in this program.  The CGC certification tests dogs on simulated everyday situations, in a relaxed, noncompetitive atmosphere.  The purpose of the CGC program is to ensure that dogs can be respected members of the community.  That can only happen when they are trained to act mannerly at home, in public places, and around other dogs and people.  Achievement of the CGC is just the beginning.  We hope you will enjoy training your dog and become involved in one of the many dog sports such as Obedience, Agility, Tracking, Flyball, Earthdog, or Lure Coursing to name a few.
